Hanon Systems Canada Celebrates 30 Years of Operation

BELLEVILLE, Ontario, June 27, 2019 – Hanon Systems Canada, Inc., an affiliate of Hanon Systems (KS:018880), is today celebrating three decades manufacturing and delivering innovative thermal management products to the automotive industry.

Established in 1989, the plant in Belleville, Ontario, was the first operation outside of Korea. Known then as Halla Climate Control Canada Inc., it became Halla Visteon Climate Control Canada Inc. in 2013. The entity became Hanon Systems Canada Inc. in 2015, shortly after the Korea-based parent company became Hanon Systems.

Jay Son, chief executive officer of Hanon Systems, was plant manager at Belleville from 1992 to 1997. He traveled to the plant to celebrate the milestone with employees, and also took part in a media event where the Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk presented Hanon Systems Canada with the key to the city, a special recognition for the company’s contribution to community.

Reflecting on the occasion, CEO Jay Son said, “Having had the honor to serve five years as plant manager here in Belleville, I came to experience first-hand the strong spirit of fellowship in this community and all of our hardworking people who continue to deliver high quality automotive solutions each day. It gives me great pride to be here to celebrate this important milestone.”

Located approximately 200 km from Toronto, the operation in Belleville produces automotive heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units, underbody and underhood fluid transport lines, and accumulators for various vehicle manufacturers.
