Climate Systems Mexicana in Querétaro Expands to Support Growing Business in Central Mexico

SEOUL, South Korea, Aug. 26, 2019 – Hanon Systems (KS: 018880), a leading global thermal and energy management automotive supplier, is today announcing the company is expanding its operation in Central Mexico to support its growing business with automakers in the region.

Located in the State of Querétaro, the manufacturing facility operates under the legal name Climate Systems Mexicana, S.A. de C.V. It launched in 2014 producing automotive heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units from a 3,000 square meter site (approximately 32,000 square feet).

The expanded business moves the operation to a nearby 15,000 square meter site (approximately 160,000 square feet), and increases its ability to support automakers by adding powertrain cooling and fluid transport products to its production. The new site is outfitted with state-of-the-equipment and a fully optimized layout to drive operational efficiency.

“Customer demand and the business growth in Central Mexico was the driving force behind the expansion of our presence in Querétaro,” said Min Sung, chief operating officer of Hanon Systems. “This action demonstrates our commitment to support the needs of customers with local content with a range of innovative thermal and energy management solutions.”

The company expects to employ approximately 370 employees by the time the operation reaches full production in 2022.

In addition to the operation in Querétaro, the Mexico footprint of Hanon Systems includes four manufacturing sites in Ciudad Juárez, located in central northern Mexico; and two in Monterrey, Nuevo León, in northeast Mexico.
