Hanon Systems Receives New Excellent Technology (NET) Certificate for its Water-Cooled Condenser with Integrated Receiver Drier
Next generation technology improves heat
pump efficiency in electric vehicles with fewer components
SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 24, 2020 – Hanon Systems (KS: 018880), a leading global thermal and
energy management automotive supplier, has received a New
Excellent Technology (NET) certificate from the Korean Ministry of Trade,
Industry and Energy for its water-cooled condenser with integrated receiver
drier.
The NET certification ceremony, hosted by the
Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Industrial
Technology Promotion Association, was held as a virtual event on Sept. 22.
The recognition is for a patented technology
designed specifically for electric vehicles. The water-cooled condenser
includes an integrated receiver drier and is an integral component of a heat
pump system, which effectively manages the heating and cooling of electric
vehicles, and can support maintaining an optimal temperature of vehicle
electrical and electronics such as motors, inverters and batteries. Compared to
air-cooled condensers, the heat dissipation of the Hanon Systems water-cooled
condenser with integrated receiver drier improves performance by more than 20
percent, and offers weight saving benefits through fewer components. The
technology also supports 800-volt rapid charging.
“Hanon Systems is well-positioned with a broad
range of innovative thermal management solutions for the eco-friendly vehicle
market,” said Steven Clarke, chief technology officer of Hanon Systems. “This
recognition is another testament to the talent of our technical team in
developing solutions that will play an important role in helping automakers
commercialize electric vehicles in the growing eco-friendly segment.”
Since the inception of this
certification program, Hanon Systems has been awarded 16 new excellent
technology (NET) certificates.
